Crispy French toast
Feb 3rd, 2008 • Category: RecipesIngredients
- 6 slices of bread
- ½ cup milk
- 2 eggs
- ¼ teaspoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon oil
Method
- Beat the eggs.
- Add the milk, sugar and cinnamon, and mix together.
- Use a fork to dip each slice of bread into the mixture. You can cut out different shapes using cookie cutters. Leave the bread in the mixture long enough to soak well, but not so long that it alls apart and becomes soggy.
- Carefully heat the oil.
- Place the bread in the hot frying pan and cook for two-to-three minutes on each side. Gently press down in the middle so your French toast is crispy and golden.
- Serve warm with honey, syrup or sugar mixed with cinnamon.
Safety message: Pot handles should be turned towards the centre of the stovetop to prevent bumps and spills.
