Newspapers and Literacy

Newspapers are made for a literacy-rich environment – they’re full of letters, words and sentences – all made to enrich the world of literacy. In previous NIE pages we took you through reading and writing using the newspaper, we showed you how to read for information and how to write your own newspaper article. Rather than repeating similar activities, we now want to show you how it’s possible to teach classroom grammar within the pages of a newspaper.
